Our version one takes the gold Primary Engineer MacRoberts Award

Updated: May 29, 2022

Its always nice to know that your work is seen, at least that your efforts don’t go unnoticed, for the primary engineer MacRoberts award this was the case. Late 2020 the opportunity to nominate a project for the MacRoberts medal award arose. This was to nominate the origin of the project and show how far it had come.

Like most you never really enter thinking that you will win. In September of 2021 we received an email confirming that we had in fact won a medal which was fantastic however, they could not confirm if we had won the bronze, silver or gold medal. On November 7th live at COP26 the CEO of primary engineer Susan Scurlock announced that we had won the gold medal which was an extremely proud moment in the project progress.

It had been several years since I was able to catch up with the young woman who first proposed this idea. It was great to catch up with her to find out that she is now studying nursing at University.

Around the same time as the award process, we had been asked to support the Primary Engineering pod cast. This is hosted and produced by the fantastic Ollie Guillou (Figure 1). If you did not get the chance do give this a listen https://leadersaward.com/podcasts/.

This award has reminded myself and the team what great work we have done so far and more excitingly that this project is not at the end but its really at its beginning. On the May the 27th the awards ceremony commenced in Glasgow Scotland where the gold medal was presented, acknowledging the project and the progress to date.
